Fonctionnement - Solar oven
Put an egg in the aluminium container.
Set the glass on the tray and fix it.
Put the lid on the cardboard box.
It is important to secure the small glass by bending over the edges of the container. Otherwise it could move in the oven and tear the aluminium reflectors. The oven must be oriented at 90° degrees againts the sun's rays.
To do this, it is possible to lay the box against a tree or secure it in place using a wooden stick.
On a sunny Summer day, the temperature of the oven reaches over 80°C degrees, enough to cook a hard boiled egg in about an hour and a half.
A brown egg will cook faster than a white as its colour is darker ! An orientation tool can be made from a paper clip and a piece of white cardboard.
Bend the paper clip at 90 degrees and stick with sellotape in the middle of a small white cardboard (you can use the lid of the aluminium container for instance)...
Place the small cardboard on the oven transparent window and move the oven until the shadow of the paper clip disappears under it.
