A suprising mussel

This DIY project creates a shell that, once submerged in water, will open automatically as if by magic.

This project was developed to illustrate the theme of the invasive quagga mussel that is colonising Lake Léman and, among other things, causing many problems to the ecosystem.

The idea for this DIY project was inspired by a Japanese gadget from the 1950s to 1970s that brought joy to many children at the time.

This project was created for the magazine 'Campus Junior' of the University of Geneva.
